Meditation is about training our busy mind to quieten and take a break from planning,
strategising, making up scenarios, running with stories, imagining outcomes, as we do all day everyday.
What is meditation?
Many of us ‘meditate’ without even knowing it when we are listening to music, watching flowers, sitting on the sand at the beach, watching the waves, overlooking mountains, listening to the birds sing, reading a book, writing, exercising, simply breathing in and out, etc. Meditation is not necessarily about sitting still with your eyes closed being silent, chanting sounds and mantras, although that can be great too! It’s about finding what works for us to bring us back to our calm centre within ourselves.
